Fire Maintenance Services, or FMS as we are more commonly known, began life in 1999 as a collaboration of two disillusioned fire safety engineers, with the intention to provide a better service to the local industry.
At the time, with a combined working knowledge in the industry of over forty years, they realised how unscrupulous the Fire Service industry could be. With the large companies selling items at an astronomical cost, and the smaller companies often selling equipment or services either unwanted or undelivered.
In the first early years, we based our headquarters within Washington, Tyne & Wear . We felt a headquarters here, in the heart of the North East, would be a good base for delivering our service to the local companies.
From our humble beginning, we now have satellite offices at South Shields, Hartlepool and Middlesbrough, along with the main office at Washington. We are in place to deliver our service, from York in the South of the region to Prudhoe in the North of the region, and everywhere in between.
Our ethos of A fair days work for a fair days pay, has seen us grow every year, while not forgetting our previous customers, as these are the reason for our success.
